Denbigh is a fantastic market town with quirky independent shops, some wonderful places to eat and drink. It has a castle and town walls dating back to the 1200s, has more listed buildings than any other town in Wales and overlooks the Clwydian range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a packed calendar of events in the town including Rolling the Barrel competition every Boxing Day and the Denbigh Plum Festival Open Doors Weekend every autumn. Check out the Visit Denbigh website for more information.

If you still have energy left after exploring everything that Denbigh has to offer, the town is a convenient base to explore the whole of North Wales and Northwest England including five UNESCO World Heritage sites, Y Wyddfa/Snowdonia National Park, and the North Wales coast. Check out our guidebook for things to do and places to eat in the local area.
